"Very clean, very friendly - and well located! I have stayed in Wessex House last month and I have to say that it was great. Nice, clean and with a great breakfast (vegetarians will be fine there!) prepared by an incredibly welcoming owner of this place. Good thing about this B&B is that it's located within a walking distance from the town centre (10 mins by foot) but it's quiet and pretty remote at the same time. Do not look further if you have to stay in Basingstoke. Wessex House is your first option :D"

I stayed in the Wessex Guest House for a couple of months (Feb/March 2012) and wish I'd found it sooner. It's clean, comfortable, the rooms are of an excellent standard, and there's a tv, fridge and microwave in each, with plates and cutlery. Tracy and Dave are relaxed, friendly and welcoming, but don't intrude on your privacy. They get the balance just right. The breakfasts are good, the beds are comfortable and the whole place has a warm and comfortable atmosphere. The Wessex Guesthouse is the best kept secret in Basingstoke and I thoroughly recommend it.

"Ideally placed for the town for food and drink as well as having a nice Chinese takeaway around the corner, I only hope too many people do not find out about this location, as I hope there will be rooms available for next time. WIFI worked great and the location was ideal for my visit."

"A very good experience! I spent 12 weeks including weekends in this accomodation for work, and all I can say is that it couldn't have been a better stay. Rooms are very well cleaned every day, (when I came back from work everything was fresh and tidied (bathroom, dishes, bed), there is a very good TV with lots of channels, a WiFi internet connection, an ironing board available, a fast laundry service for only £2, and last but not least a perfect "a la carte" breakfast everyday (and, I am a vegetarian), in other words, the service is excellent. Mails can be delivered at your name and at the same address, no worries everything will be forwarded to you the soonest possible. I also dig the friendly and familial atmosphere, Tracy will give you the best advice to visit the surroundings. There are two bus stops very close served by two bus lines, and leading to supermarkets on one side, and to the town centre, railway station and business parks on the other side. If you are sporty, you can go on a footing in the neighbourhood, or to the football field behind the block. For a weekend, for a week or for a month, this is simply the best accomodation I can advise in Basingstoke! "
